Every year I remember that I meant to buy some hard luggage for the motorbike. Oh well. Here are my top tips for packing for a motorcycling holiday.

Stay cool, stay safe, on your motorcycle

Now the sun has finally come back, getting on your scooter or motorbike is even more tempting (certainly better than sweltering in your car in a traffic jam).

Today is International Female Ride Day, celebrating the increasing number of women riding their own scooters and motorbikes.

I'm tempted to go over to France for this weekend's Enduro at Le Touquet: not just a beach race but a huge party.

This weekend is the annual Enduro at Le Touquet: when a genteel French seaside resort turns into a motorbike party centred on a beach race.

What to wear when the weather's so fickle?

Summer riding is great because it's warm, and the evenings are long and light. But over the last few weeks we've seen heatwaves, wind and torrential rain, sometimes within hours of each other.

The perfect start to National Motorcycle Week - riding my new motorbike home in sunshine.

It was very frustrating to buy a new motorbike and then immediately go abroad for a week's work.

So close... and yet so far.

The good news - I collected the VFR, got a quick guided tour of important basics like how to check the oil, and rode it away.

Collecting my new bike this weekend. I can't wait!

Timandra finds that riding a bike is like, well, riding a bike - it all comes back pretty quickly with a helpful instructor.

I admit it, I haven't been riding for a while - not through choice, I should add. So before I go out and buy my next motorbike I thought I should get a quick refresher.
