Wow what a day! Got on our bikes for the first time and it felt great! The weather was pretty bad and I have to admit that when we got to the training ground, the FEAR began to set in again!

A relief to finally get on the bikes! I was a tad nervous to find out if I had remembered what I had learnt from my training down at Wheeldon Off-Road Centre.

Today I had quite an interesting day. It rained extremely hard and the conditions were pretty bad this morning but we did our first bit of off-road training and we got very very wet.

Left Heathrow on the 8.30pm flight and arrived 10 hours and 50mins later in Jo'berg.

Here we are! So it’s not that hot and not that cold it’s just right … long journey, we’ve got kitted out and briefed and now I’m a little anxious.

Wow! We have finally arrived after a long long journey! Can’t believe we are here and its only a matter of some hours now until we get on our bikes.
