Motorcycle Accessories
You may be perfectly happy with your motorcycle the way it is. But if not, there are thousands of motorcycle accessories you can get to tweak it until it’s absolutely perfect.
For example, you like your traditional, naked motorbike or your elegant urban scooter. But you don’t like the way the wind cuts through your jacket when you ride on faster roads. No problem, invest in a windscreen and be amazed at how much warmer you feel. Even a small “fly” screen can divert the cold wind away from you and might even save you petrol money, as you become more aerodynamic and use less fuel.
After more weather protection? Muffs for the handlebars keep the wind and rain off your hands, though some riders find them fiddly. On a scooter, especially classic Italian-style scooters, there’s always leg covers to keep the splashes and rain out.
To enhance your motorcycle’s looks, hundreds of products are available to add a little detail – a bellypan to protect your motorbike’s engine and streamline the shape, perhaps? If you’re not satisfied with the original look, it’s very easy to customize your ride by replacing anything from handlebars to exhausts with something a little different. Just be sure it will fit your scooter or motorbike, and that you’re buying a quality product from a reputable dealer. Don’t end up with something that looks flashy but is illegal or even dangerous.
What if you’re delighted with your sleek motorbike or immaculate scooter, but worried about somebody knocking it over when it’s parked in town? Think about fitting some “crash bungs” or other protectors, so the first thing to hit the tarmac would be a replaceable plastic post or a metal bar, not your beautiful fairing.
There are all sorts of ways to enhance your ride and your riding experience. Check out the maintenance, security and luggage sections for more ideas. And of course, this is just the sensible stuff… Clocks that attach to your handlebars, signs that say “scooter parking only”… you’ll never be hard to buy presents for again.
