Free Ride. What a great idea!
Free Ride. What a great idea!
Hi everyone. I just wanted to say what a great idea the free ride is.
I have always wanted a bike since my teens but parental pressure then stopped me. Now nearing my forties, I had recently been thinking of doing my CBT as recent efforts to learn to drive a car left me feeling frustrated and usless. After deciding a car was not for me I started looking into bike training on the internet. I kept thinking how about if I go for my CBT and cant even stay upright on the bike. I saw the free ride advertised on this site and read lots of the very useul information on here and decided to take the plunge.
I called Black Country Motorcycle Training in Wolverhampton and they booked me in for my free ride yesterday (11/09/10) It was EXCELLENT!!!!
The Trainer (think his name was John) was fab he was very patient unfortunatly I have a stinking head cold and was having trouble hearing what he said. but nevertheless I was so happy with what I managed to do.
I did end up in a privet hedge though. lol but I carried on and loved it!
I will be taking my CBT with BCMT and I have started looking at bikes.
I just want to say thank you to BCMT and would reccomend them to everyone.
Many thanks to Get On too.
Gemma

Hi Gemma,
so great to read your story! Have you already set the date for your CBT? Come back and tell us when you do it... I'm sure it will go great!
Have you got any ideas for your first scooter/bike?
Cecilia
I just saw this scheme mentioned on tv and thought!! wow. I agree that its something I've always wanteed to try (since my teens also) but never gave it a thought till now. Im really looking forward to trying it out!!! Yey
cool! will you let us know how it goes? have you already booked the Free Ride?
Me and my partner have always talked about riding but have been hesitant cos of some matcho fools we've come up against...but Valley Bike School were really great for our free ride! We did it on the 14th Sept and booked another one for the 30th then our CBT on Sunday the 3rd Oct. The free ride experience is a great idea and has really given us the boot in the right direction to put into action something we've talked about for ages!
Thanks to Valley Bike School in Rossendale and thanks to Get On for giving us the momentum to get on with it!!
I fancy getting a Suzuki GZ125 Marauder to get some miles under my belt...any ideas for a 5'2 female rider who is just starting out on a manual are welcome!!
Hi Sara,
so great to read your story, very inspiring! Don't let the macho fools scare you... we are getting a lot of stories from female riders, and I think it's just brilliant.
Make sure to come back and tell us about your CBT, although I'm sure it will be absolutely fine.
Best of luck!
