www.scooter.co.uk - Direct Bikes

I have been trawling the internet for different scooters and have come across www.scooter.co.uk also www.moped.co.uk

I was just wondering if anybody has had any dealings with the company before, there prices seem too good to be true, 50cc from £549, 125cc from £699

I’m just worried that the bikes may not be as safe or reliable as one purchased form a bike store or other online store, It does state that there prices are reflective as they cut out the middle man but I think I would like other people’s opinions.

Hope someone has had a good service from them and the bikes are good as there is one that I have my eye on, if not I’m sure there will be one just as good out there.

I don't actually know either of them, but my advice is: look for reviews of the service with Google.

I found this: http://www.reviewdo.co.uk/Company_Review.asp?c=DIRECT+BIKES+[W11+3JE]&PVQ=EHI

I always do this to find out if a service is really a scam. Also look on ciao.co.uk, they might have a review!

Hope one of our members replies to you with more specific info :)

Thanks for the advice, just done a google search for "review+direct+bikes" think I may give the company a miss, click the link and watch the video.

Its an BBC watchdog episode from November 2008, unless they have changed dramatically I feel the service may be the same (the website is).

If anyone has good things to say tho, please let me know

uhm, I don't know what to make of that. On the one hand many scam websites do that, on the other it could still be a legit way to maximize search results.

What strikes me as odd is that all scooters are not from known brands.

I personally wouldn't go with that choice. A known brand offers you safety, durability... I'd buy an used scooter from a well known brand rather than a cheap, dodgy one.

I personally love the Piaggio Liberty, its big wheels offer perfect stability, and it's really "well planted" (I never felt unstable on it, which I can't say for other lighter and cheaper scooters)

Do not use Direct Bikes! For anyone who even thinks of using them, you will jus be wasting your money.
