Free motorcycle or scooter taster sessions at event in Erith, South East London
Londoners will get the chance to try riding a motorcycle or scooter for the first time this weekend, at a free event run by the Motorcycle Industry Association.
Get On, which is the motorcycle industry’s free ‘try out’ programme, will be offering people the chance to try riding a motorcycle or scooter with a professional instructor in Erith this Saturday and Sunday, October 28th/29th.
The two-day event will be held at the Erith driving test centre, which is an ideal space for learning to ride, as it is not used for tests at the weekend.
Get On offers free 45-minute taster sessions at venues across the UK. All bikes and protective clothing are provided and instructors are exceptionally patient. This is the third time Get On has visited Erith.
What happens at a Get On event?
Riders are introduced to the gears, brakes and slow speed handling by a professional instructor. Bikes and protective clothing are all provided, so riders just need to wear long jeans and sturdy shoes. There is no cost at all.
Riders will also be given advice about wearing protective clothing and how to find an MCIAC accredited local training school, should they decide to take their interest further, as well as learning what licences are needed for different sized motorcycles.
Who is Get On suitable for?
Get On is suitable for anyone aged 14 or over who wants to learn to ride, from complete beginners to those who are thinking of returning to biking after a break.
- 28th, 29th October: Erith Driving Test Centre, Crabtree Manorway N, London, DA17 6LJ – South East London.
