How do you find a good motorcycle training school?
Not all motorcycle training schools are the same, so if you want to do a CBT or train for a motorcycle licence, you need to find a good one. Now it’s easy to find a good motorcycle training school with a searchable website, which only features those which are ‘accredited’, or close to completing. You can find them at www.mciac.co.uk.
If there isn’t an MCIAC accredited training school near you, check the site regularly, as new sites are being added, as more become accredited.
MCIAC was set up by the Motorcycle Industry Association. Director of Safety and Training, Karen Cole explained why it was set up and how it helps.
MCIAC is similar to the early days of the CORGI gas registration scheme. That started as a purely voluntary scheme in the 1970s, in order for the public to identify the ‘competent and qualified’.
We know good training results in better riders and there are lots of great schools out there, whether MCIAC accredited or not. But how are ordinary members of the public supposed to be able to identify them across a range of criteria, which might ultimately affect their safety? And how can people avoid the few that are truly awful, but seem to stay in business. ‘Word of mouth’ is always useful, but most people don’t want to rely on it as their only way of finding a quality provider.
The MCIAC website makes it really easy for the public to find high quality schools, because we’ve done all the checks for you!
