Lock, chain, cover to make your bike less visible to thieves
The Met Police is advising riders to lock, chain and cover their bikes to make them less attractive to thieves, who are often looking for easy pickings.
14.000 motorcycles and scooters were stolen last year within London and many were used to commit a further 23,500 crimes, often involving violence. A new video highlights how using physical security makes it harder for thieves, who are always looking for the easiest pickings.
Police are also using new tactics to catch thieves and now use scrambler bikes, automatic tyre deflation devices and DNA sprays, which are proving effective.
