The Classical Brits are, well, the Brit Awards of classical music. So how you arrive at the Albert Hall says a lot about who you are. And singing quartet Blake have chosen to arrive on two wheels.
Although they’re now all riding their own motorcycles, they’re nominated for two Classical Brit awards and have decided that the evening might be worth a glass of champagne. So they’ve wisely organised to hitch a ride on somebody else’s wheels.
If you’re planning to be at the Classical Brits on May 13th, look out for them rolling up between 5.30 and 6.30pm. They’ll be on a Yamaha Diversion XJ6 , a Kawasaki 1400 GTR a Honda VT750C Black Spirit or DN-01, depending on which of the boys is your personal favourite. Arai have kindly provided the quartet with the latest lids and they and Frank Thomas have sorted out the riders with outfits that are both safe and ultra-cool, completing the all-black effect of the motorbikes.
After Blake have made their dramatic entrance, the DSA qualified instructors from Metropolis Motorcycles will ride off, slipping through the London traffic smoother than the TroutQuintet.
If you can’t be in Kensington on the 13th, you can watch the Classical Brits on ITV1 on Tuesday 18th May. And if you want a taste of the glamour for yourself, you can still book your free one hour trial ride through Get On at a training centre near you.
