We know that plenty of women ride motorcycles off road. But we also know that some prefer to learn without having men around – all that showing off, competitive behaviour and generally getting in the way is just distracting. And besides, sometimes it’s nice to just get away and have a good time with your mates.
So we’re delighted to tell you that Wheeldon Off-Road Centre in South Devon is holding an All Female Off-Road Experience this weekend.
On Saturday July 24th the indoor track will be a ladies-only zone, and the ACU accredited instructors will take the group from the basics of motorbike control to riding the 30,000 square foot indoor arena. Before the day’s out, you could be riding their Suzuki off-road motorbikes across the whoops, berms and table top (no, we don’t know what they are either – ed).
Everything is provided, from lunch to full safety gear and of course the bikes. There are even showers on site so you can rinse off the dirt.
Whether it’s the start of a new passion for riding off road, or just a change from riding a road bike, you’ll certainly pick up skills that will help your riding in future, as well as having more fun than you can imagine if you’ve never tried it.
If your fella doesn’t like to be left alone, don’t worry. There’s plenty of comfortable accommodation onsite, and lots for him to do while you’re riding. You can promise him a cosy Sunday roast at one of the area’s excellent pubs.
