So you’ve got your full motorcycle licence, but you know you could be riding better? Time for some extra training.
If you’re looking to improve your handling of the motorbike, riding on a track can help. Because you’re not dealing with hazards like traffic, junctions, or small children running into the road, you can focus on your riding technique.
Honda’s Ron Haslam School has moved to Silverstone, where Ron made his Grand Prix debut in 1977. From May to October, they’ll be offering a range of courses for all abilities, from novice to experienced. More advanced riders will use bikes from Honda’s CBR range, benefitting from data logging and expert tuition to pick up skills that will be useful on the road as well as the track.
But beginners and under-16s can also try riding the legendary circuit. If you’re 12 or 13 you can have a first taste of motorcycling on a CBR125, and older riders will take to a CB500. So even if you don’t yet have a motorcycle licence, you can get some expert training. To find out more, call 01332 883 323 or go to www.haslamraceschool.com.
And if you can’t get to Silverstone, anybody aged 16 or over can try a motorcycle or scooter for the first time, absolutely free, at a training centre near you. Just register though Get On and we’ll put you in touch with a local training school to book your one hour free trial ride.
