Ride to Work Week begins in the UK

June 15, 2015

Today (Monday 15th June) is international Ride to Work Day and marks the beginning of Ride to Work Week.  Riders across the UK have ridden their motorcycles and scooters to work, to show just how much fun commuting can be!

Travelling  to work on a motorcycle, scooter or moped is one of the least likely modes of transport to affect your well-being on journeys up to half an hour, according to a one-off travel survey by the Office for National Statistics.  In contrast, those who walk, cycle, drive a car or take the bus all experience a reduction in well-being on  journeys between 15 and 30 minutes.

A number of motorcycle businesses are making special offers to riders to celebrate Ride to Work Week and these range from money off biker boots to free drinks.

You can check out events and offers on the Ride to Work Week website.
