From spectator to rider – how Get On transformed a visit to Moto GP

September 19, 2016

Get On has been on the road for the past few months and one of the most exciting venues to try a bike for the first time must be at Silverstone in Northamptonshire.

Frances Cooper booked a Get On ride at the Moto GP event at the beginning of September and she wrote to use to tell us how this had built her confidence over two days, with the help of Craig, one of our star instructors.

In her own words she explained how she switched from spectator to rider:

“I had never ridden a bike and I started off on a scooter which I really enjoyed. The following day, with some direct encouragement from my partner… I had another go and this time I tried a geared bike.

“I was very nervous, and again, Craig was calming, patient and very clear in his explanation. By the end of the session, I felt exhausted and elated.  My partner and I left the stand and watched the Moto GP together, the Suzuki win was an incredible result!

“As a surprise, she booked my CBT for the following Saturday, which as you can see from the picture I passed!! By the following Tuesday I had my own 125cc geared bike (pictured below) and have been out riding it, but most importantly, loving it!!

“Despite my partners best efforts, I have always been very against riding myself. Thank you for the opportunity you gave me at Silverstone and thank you to Craig for being such a great instructor. It has boosted my confidence and given me access to a hobby it turns out, I really enjoy!”
