Try a motorcycle for free in Uxbridge on Saturday 5th September
Get On is coming to Uxbridge, Greater London and is open to anyone aged 15 or over, who wants to try a motorcycle or scooter for the first time for free!
Riders will be offered a 30 minute session with a professional instructor, which needs to be booked beforehand via the website www.geton.co.uk.
This will take place between 9am and 5pm on Saturday 5th September at the Uxbridge Motorcycle and Car Test Centre, UB8 2DB, which is near Brunel University.
London was recently named as the most congested city in Europe, with drivers spending an average of 96 hours each year in stationary traffic. That’s 14 hours more than in 2013, with the rise blamed on improvements to the economy and population increase. Riders of motorcycles and scooters are able to filter through stationary traffic, which means their journey times are shorter.
All safety clothing will be provided but riders should wear sturdy shoes and full length jeans. Advice can also be given about how to find the best trainers, should riders want to pursue further training and take a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training). A CBT allows you to ride a small motorcycle or scooter on the road and usually takes around a day to complete.
Other Get On events in 2015 include:
Farnborough Practical Driving Test Centre 13th September
British Touring Cars Championships, Silverstone 26th and 27th September
Motorcycle Live, NEC, Birmingham – 28th November to 6th December (booking will go live for this event, three months before the start date).
